Stage 9:
Storuman to Sorsele (53 miles)

Still in the province of Lapland, which covers about a quarter of Sweden's surface area, Sorsele is another relatively small town. The muggle population is about 1,300 although, like the previous checkpoint, this is also bumped up somewhat by the presence of wizards due to the dragon reservation in this area.

Pick up some time bonuses by completing the challenges below.

Time Challenge: Fill in the grid below using the clues provided. No number is used twice and they are all whole numbers (no halves, quarters or other decimals). Tell me the numbers you have used and get a 12 second time bonus for each correct one.

Clues:

1. A1 is C3 plus D2.
2. A2 is either D1 plus B2 or D1 plus D2.
3. A3 is either C2 plus B2 or C2 minus B2.
4. A4 is B2 plus D2.
5. B1 is either either A2 plus B4 or A2 plus A4.
6. B2 is either 9 or 10.
7. B3 is either D4 minus A1 or D4 minus A4.
8. B4 is either A3 plus D2 or A3 minus C3.
9. C1 is either B3 minus B2 or B3 plus B2.
10. C2 is either C1 minus A4 or C1 minus B3.
11. C3 is either A4 minus B2 or A4 plus B2.
12. C4 is either B1 minus B4 or B1 plus A1.
13. D1 is either B4 plus A4 or B4 minus A4.
14. D2 is a third of B2.
15. D3 is either C4 minus B2 or C4 plus B2.
16. D4 is either A1 plus C3 or A1 minus C3.

Bonus time challenge: Each of these cubes has a spell from the Harry Potter world in it. To find the spell, you can start with any letter and move from letter to letter by travelling to any adjacent letter—across, up and down, or diagonally. You can use letters twice in the same word, but not in consecutive moves - you must move on to a new square for each letter in the spell - and you might not need all of the letters in the cube to make your spell. Gain 15 seconds of time for each correctly spelled... spell!
