Essay Questions - 5 points each
1. Suggest some ingredients for a sleeping potion, with reasons. These may or may not be ingredients mentioned in the HP books, but must have some magical properties, whether real or invented.
2. Explain in detail how you would treat a (still living) victim of Devil's snare. Describe what is likely to be wrong with the person, and exactly what magical remeies you would use to cure them. Use examples from the books and/or films. Treatments need not have been described in the context of Devil's snare in the books or films. Use your imagination!
Extra credit
1. Describe three ways in which you might use a bezoar to counteract the effects of a poison. Explain in as much detail as you think necessary, but remember I am looking for 5 points per explanation.
2. Describe in as much detail as possible two other magical plants from the Harry Potter books - one that can be used in a potion or other preparation to treat or cure a malady, and one that is harmful to people, whether as a live plant or in potion form. Include the name of the plant, what it does, and how it is used, and for the harmful plant, describe a possible strategy (which may be invented if necessary) that a witch or wizard could use to avoid being harmed by it. (15 points)
