ASSIGNMENT 8 - ARTEFACT ACCIDENTS
Send all answers with your HOL name and Student ID to me using HOL MESSAGES by 30th APRIL. Please use PMH Assignment 8 - HOL ID (e.g. PMH Assignment 8 - ce400) as the subject of your message.
Assignment
1. As well as physical healing of cuts, bruises, burns and broken bones, healers working on the Artefact Accidents ward need to be able to recognise signs of other, perhaps less obvious, magical maladies, such as potion poisoning and spell damage. Why do you think this is important? (100 words or more for 10 points)
2. You are called to see a child who has been bitten on the nose by a Fanged Frisbee. How would you treat the child, and are there likely to be any other effects of the injury that you need to be aware of? (10 points)
3. As a healer in this department, you may encounter Artefact accidents that are the result of charms placed illegally on muggle objects. Name one example of this from the books, and state which Ministry of Magic department you would be legally obliged to report the incident to. (10 points)
Extra Credit (30 points)
Using the HP books and other reliable souces if you wish (e.g. the HP Lexicon), describe the three most likely Artefact Accidents you think a Healer would encounter, not including those described in the lesson. Please also give a brief description of the treatment and potential complications (spell damage etc) that may arise from these accidents.
